Canada's dairy, poultry and egg farmers carefully match the supply of food they produce to meet the needs of their Canadian consumers. This is what’s called "supply management." It keeps prices stable, lets you buy the made-in-Canada products you prefer and allows farm families to make a living.

The outcome of World Trade Organization (WTO) negotiations could jeopardize supply management in Canada, which would threaten the livelihood of thousands of farmers and the access to many of the Canadian farm products you have come to know and trust. This is why we're calling on Canada's government to stand up for the maintenance of supply management at the ongoing WTO negotiations on agriculture.

Various organizations representing the dairy, poultry and egg sectors will be working with news media, governments and stakeholders to ensure that the pillars of supply management are non-negotiable at the WTO.

Polls demonstrate that Canadians want Canadian-produced food – 1,500 Canadians were polled by Léger Marketing about their attitudes towards supply management in Canada's dairy, poultry and egg farming sectors.
