About this Site

This site is dedicated to providing information about the importance of the issues affecting Canada's dairy, poultry and egg farmers and the consumers of their goods. The following groups represent those sectors and are actively involved in supporting this initiative.

Dairy Farmers of Canada
Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) is the national policy, lobbying and promotional organization representing Canada's 14,600 dairy farms. DFC strives to create favourable conditions for the Canadian dairy industry, today and in the future. It works to maintain policies that foster the viability of Canadian dairy producers and promote dairy products and their health benefits.

Egg Farmers of Canada
Egg Farmers of Canada (EFC) represents regulated egg farmers in all 10 provinces and the Northwest Territories. Together with the provincial egg marketing boards, EFC administers production, marketing and promotion of eggs in Canada, ensuring Canadians are supplied with top quality eggs at reasonable prices.

Chicken Farmers of Canada
Chicken Farmers of Canada (CFC) is a national organization, funded completely through farmer levies paid according to the amount of chicken marketed. It was established in 1978 under the Farm Products Agencies Act. CFC operates within a regulatory environment pursuant to the Federal-Provincial Agreement for Chicken signed by federal and provincial governments and the provincial chicken boards in July 2001.

Turkey Farmers of Canada
The Turkey Farmers of Canada (TFC) is a national organization representing registered turkey farmers. TFC was formed by legislation passed by the Federal Government in 1974. Federal legislation controlling inter-provincial and export trade in farm production, the Farm Products Marketing Agencies act of 1972, enabled producer groups to set up national marketing agencies. It also created the National Farm Products Council to supervise them. Turkey production is administered through a national quota system, more commonly known as supply management or orderly marketing.

Canadian Hatching Egg Producers
The Canadian Hatching Egg Producers (CHEP) provides the Canadian chicken industry with hatching eggs that meet or exceed expectations for safety, quality, animal husbandry practices and environmental stewardship. CHEP is committed to providing quantities of hatching eggs that meet the needs of the Canadian marketplace while ensuring fair returns to its members, and supports stable, consistent and profitable growth for all stakeholders.
